The journal accepts original papers of 4,000-6,500 words (including references). Longer articles will be considered at the discretion of the Editor. These papers may be on any topic that fits into the scope of the journal.

Provocations

The journal invites polemic essays that challenge dominant discourses or provoke debate. Submissions should be 3,000-5,000 words (including references).

Rejoinders
Section Editor: A/ Prof. Robert Parkes
The journal invites essays that respond to articles published in earlier issues of the journal. Submissions to this section should not exceed 3,000 words (including references). Where an article is accepted for the Articles or Features section that substantially challenges the work of a particular scholar, a right of reply invitation will be issued. If the invitation to respond is accepted, the response will be published in the Rejoinders section, subject to successful review.

Dissertation Abstracts
Section Editor: Dr Emma Shaw
The journal invites early career researchers to submit extended abstracts of 1,500-2,000 words (including references) from recently awarded doctoral theses on any topic that fits into the scope of the journal. The aim of this section is to promote awareness of recently completed work in the field.

The journal invites early career researchers to submit intellectually engaging book reviews up to a maximum of 1,500 words (including references) from recently awarded doctoral theses on any topic that fits into the scope of the journal. The aim of this section is to promote awareness of recently completed work in the field.

Editorial Review

Special Issues
Section Editor: A/ Prof. Robert Parkes
Articles submitted to a special issue or open themed issue call should be original papers of 4,000-6,500 words (including references). Longer articles will be considered at the discretion of the Special issues Editor. These papers may be on any topic that fits into the scope of the special issue theme. Themes should be proposed by potential Guest Editors directly to the Section Editor for approval prior to the call for papers.
